Chapter Sixteen

Second thoughts threatened to taint the moment. Nyah’s scent lingered under his nose and he savored her taste. He wanted to show her what more he had to offer and to please her in a way that would buckle her knees and have her cry out his name in complete and utter surrender. She touched his face and all the thoughts that ran through his mind blurred to the background as he focused on her eyes. He wanted to see her undisguised by layers of face paint. His thumb smeared at the makeup to remove it but it stayed put.

“Let me take this off.” She caressed his hand and pulled away, but he held her to him.

“I won’t be able to wait that long.” He pulled her to him and pressed his lips against her.

“Don’t you need something?” she asked, her upper body concaving to his fingers as they slid down the silky material of her plunging neckline.

“Carajo,” he cursed in Spanish. “I’ll be back.” Her alluring giggle only provoked his already hard dick.

He tore himself away from her gravity and sped to his suite. He dug through his luggage to find the condom box in one of the inside pockets of his luggage. He hadn’t planned on using them even if he’d hoped that things would escalate between him and Nyah. Being with her wasn’t a guarantee, but damn if he wasn’t glad he’d come prepared. He longed to touch her again. And then what?

His mind leapt into the future. Vignettes of wild and breathless moments were followed by “thanks for a great night,” or the “it’s been great” statements that ended things. The chill of being in an empty bed swept over him and his heart cramped at the thought of that vacant spot ever having belonged to Nyah. He shoved the condom box in his pant pocket and traipsed back to her.

He found her, makeup-less and drying her face with a towel. She took one look at him and asked, “Having second thoughts?”

He raked a hand through his hair. “I’m your agent. If we do this the waters could get muddy.”

“I’m not gonna lie. You’re not the only one. But...” She sauntered toward him and pressed her modest curves against him. “Some of the best things come from muddy water.” She nuzzled his neck with her nose and he drew breath. “Sunscreen for elephants.” Her lips grazed his jawline. “Lotus flowers.” She followed the line of his chin all the way to his other cheek, kissing along the way. “And—”

He silenced her with his lips, his ravenous tongue grateful for the welcome reception her mouth offered. He couldn’t believe how much he needed to taste her again until the sweetness of her tongue folded with his. He wanted to know what she liked and memorize every inch of her. He delighted in learning what he could do to make her feel good. She moaned in a note that her bass had created the day he’d first seen her play, and he logged the positive reaction for the future.
